On the initiative of the Autism Coordination Committee
Launching the Autism Coordinating Committee at the level of the Kingdom

Society Autism Families launched the Autism Coordinating Committee at the level of the Kingdom, with the aim of advancing autism sector and achieving sustainability and impact for a brighter future for those with autism spectrum disorder with participation of all specialized autism associations. This committee is a community initiative from association towards its counterparts from other associations to elevate institutional work in autism sector. The committee is chaired by Professor Areej Almuallem, Secretary General of Society Autism Families.
It is worth mentioning that the launch ceremony was attended by His Highness the Chairman of Board of Directors of Society Autism Families Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud, Honorary President of Committee, under patronage of Executive President of National Center for Development of Non-Profit Sector Professor Ahmed bin Ali Al-Suwailim and representatives of participating associations in committee.
Professor Areej Almuallem, head of the coordinating committee, pointed out that the committee came to support other associations in achieving their social targets, including financial sustainability, which is considered one of the most critical targets for the association and is consistent with Vision 2030 of the Kingdom with regard to the third sector and its participation in increasing GDP.
Almuallem explained that this step is essential to raise the ceiling of work for related civil associations by enhancing the institutional building of workers in the autism sector, improving services provided in the field, and harnessing officials’ capabilities to meet the needs of the autism sector in the Kingdom. On his part, Al-Suwailim, CEO of National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development, indicated his full support for this sector, stressing on importance of working on integration and cooperation efforts to promote it.
